Early Years

Early years (Nursery, EY1, EY2)

The initial years play a key role in a child’s life as they begin to absorb the world around them and develop. Our Early Years curriculum is designed in alignment with the Cambridge framework to ensure progression in appropriate skills and understanding during the child’s early learning years. Our committed and trained teachers deliver a challenging yet enjoyable learning programme for toddlers keeping in mind their individual needs and stage of development. The aim of Early Years education is to provide a strong foundation for all round development and lifelong learning.

In Nursery, children construct the knowledge of their environment by exploring, experimenting and experiencing. Our curriculum includes play-based activities, offering a balance of free and guided play – indoor and outdoors, individual and group, structured and unstructured. We develop our lesson plans and long term plans based on the EYFS framework which includes the following seven areas of knowledge and skills development:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Knowledge & Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts & Design

In EY2, the focus is more on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills along with fine motor and gross motor skills.
